FAQ
When should I arrive?
We’d love everyone to arrive on Thursday. We’re having a pool day Thursday afternoon and a sunset hang that night. The Fishers and Jake and Sarah arrive on Wednesday afternoon.
Where am I staying?
The Station House Inn (901 PARK AVENUE, South Lake Tahoe, California, 96150)
Check-in at Station House Inn anytime after 4:00 PM on Thursday. If you get there before, you can store your stuff in Jake + Sarah’s suite. Don’t forget to ask for your free Welcome Drink when you arrive!
Where should I fly into?
Reno! Reno is about an hour away from Stateline, where we’re staying.
How do I get from Reno to Tahoe?
You can rent a car (Enterprise, Budget, Turo, etc). Or you can take a bus straight from the airport to walking distance from our hotel. It’s called the South Lake Tahoe Airporter, and you can take it from Reno to Harrah’s, which is a 12 minute walk from Station House Inn.
You won’t need a car once arriving, everything is in walking distance!
What should I do to prepare before the trip?
Hydrate!!! We’re staying at 6,250 ft above sea level. We highly recommend drinking more water before you come. We recommend electrolytes like LiquidIV or Gatorade, too. Especially since we’ll be enjoying some beverages throughout the weekend, it’s even more important to hydrate beforehand.
What should I pack?
The usual things! List below.
Packing List
Honestly—bring whatever you want! But, if it’s helpful, here are a few extra things we’ve recommend.
Bathing suit(s)
2-3 casual outfits for brewery dinners
Sneakers/comfortable walking shoes
Sandals/boat shoes
Dress/suit for the wedding
Layers! It can get chilly at night.
Hat(s)
Sunglasses
Reusable water bottle
Your favorite sunscreen. We’ll have some too.
If you have an Epic Pass - bring it!
What to wear
Many of you have been curious about what to wear to an outdoor elopement. Since it’s a small group, we understand and appreciate the desire to coordinate. But honestly, wear whatever you prefer and feel happiest in. Everyone being comfortable is the most important!
Important note: It’s a bit rocky! We recommend wearing low heels or flats. We’ll also be on dirt, so be warned that long dresses may get dirty. Here’s a picture of Sarah walking at our location.
So, to make things easier, this is what we’re thinking:
Men: Blue, black or grey suits. No ties needed. Jake is wearing green
Women: Sarah is wearing a wedding dress, so we’re thinking formal dresses too. Blue, teal and other earthy, Tahoe-y tones would work!
Here’s a link with some dress inspo! Sarah pulled some examples that you can view here. But truly, this is only meant to be helpful—no pressure!!!
